  • Overview

    Delivers company performance objectives, in line with seasonal and global growth strategy. Lead and develop Merchandising function, at all levels inc. Allocation.

    Ensures Merch teams are consistent and clear in delivering objectives. Accountable for inventory and performance KPIs

    What you'll be doing

    1. Planning
    • Works with Merchandising Director developing merchandising strategy
    • Ensure Merchandising team are clear on strategy, prepared and present consistently in a way that demonstrates and gives confidence that goals are achievable, delivering and beating budget
    • Leads team to deliver best possible seasonal plans, delivering company growth objectives
    • Plans and buys a balanced range in line with budget, planned architecture and phasing and meeting channel/region requirements
    • Takes ownership for category forecasts and plans, presenting to leadership team
    1. Trading
    • Responsible for category WSSIs (sales, stock, intake) to deliver budgets/forecasts, identifying and communicating risks & opportunities
    • Ensuring that Merchandisers maintain accuracy of forecasts, inc WSSIs, ensuring stocks are sufficient to achieve KPIs with OTB/OTC within agreed levels
    • Optimising departmental availability, maximising sales & profit, ensuring best practice of stock management from merchandising function at all times
    • Identifying and communicating sales / stock risk and opportunities, ensuring teams take consistent a approach to markdown to maximise sell-thru, potentializing markdown
    • Profitable delivery of promotions and catalogues from a product perspective (selection and availability)
    1. Managing Supply Chain & Critical Path
    • Ensure that Merchandisers are achieving / communicating critical path milestones to deliver on time launch.
    • Identify intake and phasing in line with sales, considering and communicating impact on Finance, Supply Chain and regions
    • Ensure that merchandising teams buys are in line with seasonal sign offs
    1. Manages Self and Others
    • Leads by example, is a role model within Merchandising and MW team
    • Develops, coaches and supports team members to fulfil their potential, thru regular 1:1s, creating and evolving competencies, setting clear SMART objectives
    1. Effective Communication & Leadership
    • Store visits
    • Communicates accurately and clearly with the relevant amount of information, identifying concerns and solutions – showing ownership and highlighting concerns to leadership team
    • Develops effective relationships with key stakeholders
    • Build category Merchandiser succession plan, recruiting to always grow team capability
    • Constant review and evolution of process, ways of working, and system improvement requirements
