    Mountain Warehouse is currently going through a massive growth period with a large number of store openings yearly and growth in size by over 20% year on year. We are currently the No1 outdoor retailer in the UK and are on the lookout for a talented Buyer specialising in Non Stock.

    This is a brand new, exciting opportunity that will sit with in Retail Operations and reporting into the head of retail - the successful candidate will be a passionate, hands-on, multi talented individual who will grow with the company and add value to the team.  You will be looking after the purchase of our fittings, fixtures, non retail products and store consumables to meet the needs of the business and cut down on costs!

    What you'll be doing

    The successful candidate will ideally come from a retail buying/procurement background who prides themselves on being analytical, commercial and can multi task. You will be responsible for the day to day running of Non Stock, understanding the budget and forecast and negotiate with suppliers to keep in line with the business needs. We are seeking someone who considers themselves to be ambitious, who is looking to grow with the company, always striving for improvements in all aspects of the business and is innovative and forward thinking.

    • Fully manage non stock purchases and budget, including reviews of stock, store consumption and forecasting, reacting to changes in demand, to keep our stores running smoothly.
    • Must be able to understand and analyse reports and then make recommendations based on figures, common sense and experience, therefore must be numerate and analytical.
    • Must be commercial, as will be making business critical decisions on a daily basis.
    • Be able to source new suppliers and constantly re-evaluate, making sure we have negotiated the best possible price from the best suppliers in the best possible quality.
    • Communication is key at all times, must be a confident, clear and concise communicator.
    • Reports to be constructed and presented to senior management therefore must have very good IT skills most importantly advanced skills in Excel.
    • Fully understand store needs and demands, able to forecast effectively to meet demand.
    • Must be able to manage your own time and prioritize well, this will be a very busy role, making sure we are NEVER out of stock, so stores run smoothly.

    • Strong Excel skills
    • Happy to travel once a year to China
