  • Overview

    We are currently recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join a busy, friendly team in a rapidly expanding retailer based in central London.  Mountain Warehouse currently trades from 320 stores including 32 stores in Europe and 40 in US & Canada. We also have a thriving e-commerce site and trade through a number of online marketplaces (e.g. Amazon, Ebay) both in the UK and Internationally. 

     

    Reporting to the Cash & Treasury Manager and operating alongside four other Bank Reconciliation Assistants, you will play a key role in the provision of accurate cash reporting from all channels and locations.

     

    This progressive role would suit someone studying towards an accountancy qualification and offers the opportunity for the right individual to advance into an Assistant Accountant role in due course.

     

    What you'll be doing

    • Bank reconciliation of store cash, credit cards and gift vouchers across multiple currencies.
    • Managing cash discrepancies and supporting the stores to ensure minimal errors are recorded.
    • Reconciliation of sales from mountainwarehouse.com and online marketplaces, e.g Amazon and Ebay.
    • Partnering with customer services and IT teams to resolve order queries
    • Review and reporting on store petty cash movements
    • External communications with banks and card service providers
    • Preparation of weekly banking discrepancy report to area managers
    • Preparation of weekly cash flow reports
    • Management of cash balances and repatriation of international funds
    • Ongoing ad-hoc work within the finance team as required

    We would love to meet someone with

    • Ideally 1+ years bank reconciliation experience, processing a high volume of transactions or equivalent.
    • Excellent numeracy and IT skills (particularly Excel)
    • Excellent attention to detail, performing all work with high levels of accuracy
    • Previous experience with SUN an advantage
    • Open, friendly person who is proactive, keen to develop and work as part of a growing team
