  • Overview

    Mountain Warehouse's marketplaces business is fast growing, representing over 30% of total ecommerce revenue. The team focuses on growing the Mountain Warehouse and Zakti businesses across 3rd party marketplaces in the EU, US, Canada, Australia and China as well as new international marketplaces where there is untapped potential. The successful candidate will define and implement our international expansion strategy as well as defining new, innovative ways to drive profitable growth to our existing businesses including streamlining overall operations to enhance the customer experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a hands-on, commercial role with real autonomy and responsibility in a growing business area.

    What you'll be doing

    • Deliver on the existing FY19 Ecommerce Marketplace Strategy as well as create and drive the strategy going forward
    • Play a key role in shaping and implementing our Ecommerce International Expansion
    • Be in charge of the end to end management of our Ecommerce Marketplaces
    • Be responsible for the P&L
    • Lead a small team alongside identifying opportunities in recruitment, reporting to the CFO
    • Support your Head of Commercial Finance in budget planning
    • Manage data analysis in order to identify weaknesses and strengths in performance
    • Research, develop and drive innovation in your area
    • Drive launches of new marketplaces and/or new product development opportunities
    • Identify and master the marketplace specific performance measures and growth drivers
    • Select the right growth products in alignment with our merchandising teams and work with them on availability  
    • Define the Marketplace specific pricing and distribution strategy
    • Create effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

    We would love to meet someone with

    • 7+ years’ experience in ecommerce, consulting and/or retail, preferably in a trading role
    • A proactive attitude, be a fast decision-maker and solutions-orientated, with enthusiasm and determination to see-through projects to success
    • Demonstrated ability to work across different functions and teams, delivering strong results through influence
    • Proven leadership experience, enjoy managing a team, training skills and very good interpersonal skills
    • Have experience mentoring staff and overseeing their career development and training plans
    • Strong analytical, strategic and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to challenge the status quo and develop alternative solutions autonomously
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability of being able to influence Senior Management
    • An understanding of the mechanisms of B2C Ecommerce Marketplaces
    • An eagerness to get stuck in and join a fantastic team and make a big difference to a growing business
    • Fluent English; German and/or other language skills are definitely a plus but not required
