  • Overview

    Mountain Warehouse's marketplaces business is fast growing, representing over 30% of total ecommerce revenue. The team focuses on growing the Mountain Warehouse and Zakti businesses across 3rd party marketplaces in the EU, US, Canada and China as well as new international marketplaces where there is untapped potential. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining and implementing our international expansion strategy as well as defining new, innovative ways to drive profitable growth to our existing businesses including streamlining overall operations to enhance the customer experience. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a hands-on, commercial role with real autonomy and responsibility in a growing business area.


    Reporting to the Head of Marketplaces the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the smooth running and optimisation of the Mountain Warehouse and Zakti brands’ marketplace stores, continually review marketplace sales and targets and work with the Head of Marketplaces to provide recommendations for future marketplaces internationally and launching new products. This role requires working with multiple stakeholders across different departments including IT/Tech, Customer Service, Buying & Merchandising, Catalog and Finance. We are looking for a bright, analytical and ambitious individual to build their career with our International Marketplace team as a Senior Manager

    What you'll be doing

    • Assist Head of Marketplaces in creating and driving the marketplaces strategy
    • Will be in charge of the end to end management of our marketplaces and P&L
    • Lead a small team and report to the Head of Marketplaces
    • Support your Head in budget planning and the hiring process management
    • Manage data analysis in order to identify areas of under and over performance
    • Research, develop and drive innovation in your area
    • Research, recommend and drive launches of new marketplaces and/or new product development opportunities
    • Identify and master the marketplace specific growth drivers
    • Manage selection, ensuring the team are curating and optimising listings for growth
    • Assist in defining pricing and & distribution strategy 
    • Create effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

    We would love to meet someone with

    • 7+ years’ experience in ecommerce, consulting and/or retail, preferably in a trading role
    • Demonstrated ability to work across different functions and teams, delivering strong results through influence
    • Excellent data analysis skills with intermediate/advanced knowledge of excel (or SQL)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability of being able to influence Senior Management
    • Experience of managing a people or a team preferred
    • Additional European Languages beneficial
