    Mountain Warehouse are growing fast both in the UK and Internationally with over 290 stores including 32 stores in Europe and 40 in US and Canada, we also have a thriving e-commerce site and various online marketplaces (e.g. Amazon, Ebay).  

     

    Reporting into the Chief Financial Officer we are looking to hire an experienced HR specialist who is passionate about high quality people experiences, culture and engagement to lead our people team based in London Victoria. This role will play a critical part in setting up a true people function. Think start up.

    What you'll be doing

    • Identifying and embedding a compelling people strategy across our retail and head office functions.
    • Leading the design and delivery of a high-quality end to end people experience throughout the lifecycle.
    • Work with the leadership team to align business strategies with hiring and internal talent strategies, partnering with talent acquisition to ensure they have the right people at the right time.
    • Play a critical role in influencing, identifying and maximising opportunities to improve performance and potential capability of our people enabling them to deliver to the best of their abilities and work towards the next step in their career.
    • Partner with the Leadership team to identify our brand values and define the behaviours that sit under them – both for leaders and employees. Embed these values into the lifecycle and help everyone to understand what it means to be a part of Mountain Warehouse and how they can live these values in their role.
    • Be a sounding board and strong coach to your direct reports.
    • Directly manage the people team which includes a Talent Acquisition Manager & Learning and Development Manager
    • Set up and lead succession planning
    • Develop strong and trusted partnerships with the senior leadership team.
    • Lead projects/ initiatives to improve employee engagement.
    • Advising on organisation design and supporting with team structures for growth.
    • Implement review and analyse people KPI’s.

    We would love to meet someone with

    • Exceptional HR leadership skills
    • CIPD qualified or equivalent
    • Extensive HR business partnering experience ideally within a retail head office environment or equivalent working with the senior management team.
    • Previous experience of setting up a people function would desirable
    • Great sense of humour, good empathy, creative yet pragmatic
    • Comfortable working operationally as well as strategically with a strong HR and employee relations background.
    • Strong mentoring, coaching and influencing skills.
    • Commercial with the ability to match the people strategy with business objectives
    • High attention to detail
    • Team player, who is approachable and a positive role model.
