  • Overview

    Mountain Warehouse is an outdoor clothing & equipment retailer; we currently trade from over 290 stores including 80 stores across Europe & North America. We also have a significant e-commerce site and trade through a variety of online marketplaces (Amazon & Ebay) in the UK and Internationally. 


    The Sales & Banking team is responsible for the reconciliation of sales and cash receipts across the Mountain Warehouse Group. 


    This role offers full study support and provides an excellent opportunity for an individual who is studying or intends to study to progress their finance career within a busy, dynamic finance environment.

    What you'll be doing

    • Responsible for the on-time preparation of accurate multi-currency bank reconciliations with all reconciling items appropriately investigated and documented
    • Provide key support to our stores to ensure their compliance with our sales and banking processes
    • Reconciliation of orders to cash from and online marketplaces, e.g Amazon and Ebay
    • Partner with our customer services and IT teams to resolve order queries and implement process improvements  
    • Review and report on store petty cash spend
    • External communications with banks and card service providers
    • Preparation of weekly cash discrepancy report for key internal stakeholders including the Finance Director and Retail Director
    • Preparation of weekly cash flow reports
    •  Management of cash balances and repatriation of international funds
    • Preparation of supporting schedules for the audit and answering queries from the auditors
    • Work closely with the Sales & Banking Finance Manager to identify and implement systems and processes improvements
    • Ongoing non-business as usual project work within the finance team as and when required

    We would love to meet someone with

    • 1-2 years’ experience working within a Finance team ideally in a high-volume environment
    • Experience of sales and banking processes desirable • Excellent numeracy and proficient user of Excel (look ups, pivot tables, sumifs)
    • Excellent attention to detail, performing all work with high levels of accuracy
    • Previous experience with SUN an advantage
    • Open, friendly person who is proactive, keen to develop and work as part of a growing team
